Anything bigger than a Washington and I'd be out...:haha:

Go with an aussie locker. Cheap (~$230), very easy install (easiest of any locker, you can handle it I'm sure), and it will get you locked. Aussie lockers have the reputation and far and away the best warranty of any of the "lunchbox lockers". (plus they are the same price or cheaper). 12 bolts are stronger than most 10 bolts, 12 bolts have 1.31" 30 spline shafts. 10 bolts are 27 spline and smaller diameter than that (I don't remember the shaft size), the later 10 bolts are 30 spline (of course, maybe I am thinking of front axles). Remember, you can only install a "lunchbox locker" (aussie, ez-locker, etc.) if you have an open diff and not a limited slip or gov-lok. Throw the aussie in, you won't regret it. Then someday move up to the 14 bolt and sell the aussie to someone on CK5.

Good advice, only problem i see is on their site they have all chevy models listed as D44's.

Look. I've spent a lot of money in axles, a Detroit and a Lockright. I kept hanging on to the hopes that these semifloaters could handle 35's. I Finally gave up and bought a FF 14 bolt. Today, first time out in months, I broke a front outer shaft of a 10 bolt and it was a nightmare getting home, even with a winch and two Zuki's I've given up and am now looking for a 60. Now I have to spend all that money again to lock this stuff after buying it. Take everyones advise. It's a waste of money building a 10 or 12 bolt. Don't mean to rant but I've had enough of these diffs.
