so a couple days ago i posted a question about possible transfer cases that can mount to a 700r4 tranny as my old one granaded on me. any who i ended up picking up a np208 at a pick and pull and just about have every thing put back together but i still cant figure out why it cracked the housing to crap. a bit of back story i put on a new holley truck avenger and went to test drive. i was in 2wd going about 20 down a paved road when i heard a repeating thud noise and felt shaking in the stearing wheel. as i was stopping my rear drive shaft fell off and when i got out there was fluid all over the ground, thats when i noticed the crack. my slip yoke was broken where the u joint sits in it and the c clamps on the rear diff were bent to the point of needing replaced as well as my front u joints being damaged (not sure if the front u joints is a before or after affect) the only thing i can think of is that my u joints went bad but iv never heard of it cracking a t case and not damaging the drive shaft at all. im hesitent about the new one with out knowing what caused the old one to blow any help would be appreciated
