HELP!! eletronic speedo/transmission swap question.

ok, so i've been planning on putting an sm465/205 into a church's '89 suburban that currently has a 465/(whatevercomesin'89). it occurred to me that i might have problems with an electronic speedo.

i need to figure this out asap - the truck is in Portland, and I live 5 hours south. So, I need a solution before I drive 5 hours for a project that may not happen!

If I can't easily put this 205 into that truck because of the speedo, what's involved in changing out the syncro's in the existing 465? That's why I was going to swap transmissions.

You could run an inline vss but the ratio may not be the same so the speedo could end up being off.

1989 is a mechanical speedo (last year for them) so your swap just got easier.

You figure out drivelines?

nope, i'm just going to take it to DrivelineTech and have them lengthen/shorten as needed. Why? you got some laying around? it's for a 3/4 ton.

Manual trany in a burb is pretty awesome though...

I know I'll be tempted to due the 465 swap when the 4l80e goes in the burb.. at that point it won't be a daily and that is the biggest thing I miss about my K5(really the only thing.. it was a piece).
