Wll I've come to another issue with my gaps on the blaze. I cant seem to get the passanger side of the hood to lay down more on the fender. Its a little high and was like this when I began the restore. Any suggestions how to drop it down. I only need at most a quarter inch. You can see in the pics where its at.

Is it high at the back of the hood, or just in the center? I can't quite tell fromt the picture. It looks like the contour of the hood and fender are different like the either the hood or fender are reproductions. If this is the case then it's going to require some body work or find good original sheet metal.
Can you take a picture up high and farther back so I can see the whole gap?

I'd guess the same. To check if the fender is a reproduction, you can usually find a number/stamping at the top center portion of the fender about 6 inches forward of where the hood hinge bolts on. I had the same problem and found a repro fender was the cause.

hood

No Its not the fender or the hood. I bought a repro hood but the original hood was exactly the same. It was actually worse. The hood aligns perfect on the driver fender which happens to be a repo fender. Go figure. I had no trouble at all alligning that side. As you can see in this pic the entire hood is high untill just the very front. I was able to adjust that part where the hood latches to the core support. If I could adjust at the hinge I would think it would drop down. But I even Alongated the holes and still had no luck. Am I stuck with it. Im going for show quality gaps and this is the only one with trouble.

The fenders not repro either. But like I said the original was igh too. It was also high on the back too. Heres a pic before I started to restore it. You can see its off too.

You've probably thought of this, but can you raise the fender up a bit and then tweak the hood to match?

I've heard a lot of people have trouble lining things up if any part is a repro. They just don't quite fit right all the time.

If you have a factory assembly manual it says what the gaps should be from the factory (and the tolerance). I'm going from memory, but I remember something about the hood being a little high to start with and then getting to flush as it gets closer to the front. 1/4" sounds like too much though. I can post the picture later if you need.

I should say that it looks real nice from here already!

Are the hood hinges good and tight? With the new picture I can see that it's definitely the hood hinge that needs to be adjusted down a little more. I've experienced this same problem on several trucks and had to slot the hood hinges as much as an inch to get everything to line up properly. You need just a little more adjustment on the hinge and everything will be perfect.
I'm impressed how well the hood lines up, hadn't seen a good reproduction before. Where'd you get it? good originals are getting hard to come by anymore.

I bought the hood from Summit Racing. Its a goodmark. I have had a good experience with the repro parts. I've replaced both doors, the hood, fender and the tailgate. They are really good pieces. The hood lines up perfect with the repro fender. Its the original im having the trouble with. Im not sure what to do with the hinge to get it to drop down. I've elongated the holes and it seems like it didn't do anything. maybe I need to go further on the holes. My repro hood lines up the same as the original. Its almost identical. I've actually got the passanger side lined up a little better than before.

I have the assembly manual and its real close but I just don't think its good enough. I want it to be dropped down perfect like the other side.

I'm gonna be a dummy and ask......................

Which holes are you elongating? The hood side, or the fender side? My hood was high in back (+ 1/2 "). I loosened the fender side bolts and rotated the back of the hinge down. Problem solved.

The hinge itself. Yeah I tried the same thing, didn't quite do it. Im going to screw with it tomorrow and see what I can do.
