Help!!!!! how to get ring gear off of carrier

I tried putting my ring gear on and my dumbass did not get the bolt holes lined up just right and the bolts do not start. SO how do I get the gear off it is a really tight fit and I will have to heat it to get it back on. If I use a punch in the bolt hole to tap it off will it damage the teeth or do I have to use a press or something.

Use a punch in the bolt hole. Alternate sides like tightening a wheel. Just be sure to not FUBAR the threads.

maybe your axle is diff, but my front 10 bolt just needed a couple well placed wacks with a 3 lb mini. then i just worked my way around with a couple screw drivers.

No, it is only in the carrier "to keep the dust off of it" . I was trying to start the bolts when I moved Roz the other day as it was at his house and I seem to have misaligned the ring gear Is it possible to break a detroit for a 14FF?
