Help me choose the q jets replacement...

if i were you i would rebuild the q jet, but what ever you do don't throw away all of the old parts and gaskets

normally when you get a q jet rebuild kit you will get a box full of parts and gaskets that all look the same but have small differences, and that small difference will make the carb run like crap

but if you want a new carb i would buy an edelbrock, but keep this in mind, edelbrock actually sells reman performance q jets and some of them sell for more than there own carbs

Edelbrock doesnt sell Q-jets any more. Best bet is Jet performance or holly remans them as well.

check elderocks website at times. I bought a qjet new in box about a year ago. Some time they sell old stock. These are new not rebuilt. Last run was built in 2002.

apparently they still do. The question is now, do I get this, or the Thunder AVS off road carb? They're the same price

I found that my current q jet has play in the primary shaft. I still want to rebuild it, because it will help me learn a lot about it (which seems like it's a must when working with the q jet) , I just need something quicker/easier.

When I had a carb'd truck.. I had one from I-5 Automotive.. they did a pretty good job and took care of me.

I will never not run TBI though..
