I'm buying new tires and beadlocks for Ned. I have an idea what I want but I want some input.

Money is no object. Requirements are:

at least a 44 inch tall tire

double beadlock rims

discuss............anyone who suggests boggers will be put on a list and haunted after I die

I run 44" TSL's on DIY 4x4 single headlocks,,,
not hardcore doubles,, but it was something I could do at home and fit the budget..

I've aired down to 2-3 lbs and haven't popped a bead so far.... I'm not a big fan of boggers either, but they have their place..

oh, and....Blue

If MNO, then Trailready aluminum double beadlocks. No experience with them here, but have been wanting a set for quite awhile.

Tires: Definitely thornbirds. Or maybe those old ones, I think they were nittos, that had flame treads. Get Trailready to make you crabclaw flame double beadlocks to match.

You wanna stay light or don't mind some weight? If wanna stay light, get Trailready aluminum double beadlocks. If don't care about weight, TWF re-centered H1's or Stazworks.

Tires: Have you seen Interco is coming out with a new Mega SX offered in a 40" and a 50"? Supposed to be non-dot but tread depth is looking ridiculous. My brother runs 47" LTB's, and on his heavy rig (rockwells, lots of tube, realistically 6500 lbs, maybe a tad more) he is very happy with them. But I also heard a rumor that Interco might offer the 47" LTB in a sticky compound. That would be a game changer if you ask me as I think the dimensions of the 47" LTB is probably the best balanced big tire on the market. I also like the new Mickey Thompson 43" tire. Seems to be a good tire. And though the UDS Stickey tires have crazy curb appeal, I'm not convinced they will actually work worth a damn for normal trail wheeling use. Those huge side lugs will keep the rock bouncers happen with not as many flats cause their so tuff, but there is no way those side lugs are gonna flex worth a crap. I watched many videos on them, and you can tell they were designed specifically for the bouncers who close their eyes and mash the gas up a hill. So all they really care about is big, deep lugs with a crazy tuff carcass to keep from getting flats. Other than that, normal trial wheeling I could see wanting much more out of that tire. To each their own I guess

TWF re-centered H1's

I have 4 sets of re-centered H1s, one set from TWF. they are heavy and 16.5 tires are getting harder to come by unless you are #Intercofaithful.

I plan on selling mine and staying with 15s and 17s on my rigs.

Interco or pitbull. Which to be honest, when looking at a true crawler or trailer queen, there are plenty of good bias ply tire options in 16.5 from those two companies (SX, SXII's, LTB, Iroc, TSL, Bogger, Rocker bias, Rocker radial) in tires sizes anywhere from 38.5 to 47's. So to say the 16.5 is going away is a false statement to me. Sure, for the JK crowd or guys who want to still drive their stuff on the street, they think the world revolves around 17" rims and 40" nittos/toyos/pro comps/etc., but there is still LOTS of dudes around the country running 16.5's and there are still real good options...again, for the guys who don't care to drive their trail rigs on the street.

your math sucks....
its six weeks

45 inch SXII's on 17 inch Hutchinson beadlocks is where I'm at...I guess they make the SXII in a sticky also

yes, they have a 43" SX sticky for a 17" rim. I plan on running stickies on my both my buggies. the X Chassis I want to run the 43's and on my conglomeration buggy I don't know yet. like most people I don't have a lot of money and so I try to find the best bang for the buck. I have thought about getting some Milestar black labels in a 38" size and I could also run them on my Blazer when/if I ever make it to Blazer Bash.
on the 43s; I know a guy down here that was running 44" pit bull rockers on his K5 and switched to 43" sticky SXs. he said it was night and day difference.
