Help me figure out a price for trans/tcase?

What would you guys think it worth... TH 400 / 205 transfer case out of a 1980 Chevy , slip yoke.

The combo is in my truck now and works great... trans shifts solid, transfer case shifts nice and smooth.

Taking them out to swap in a 465/208 combo I got.

Seems like the local adds are 4 to 500 for th 400s and anywhere from 100 to 1000 for 205s

I need to sell the trans/tcase to buy some parts for my 454.

What do you guys think is a fair price??

Not what you're going to want to hear but a combo like that in my area would be $400-$600 for both.

Agree, same around here. Mose good working TH400s seeem to sell for around $400. Add $100-$200 for.a 205 and there yar

Same here--especially for ones you can test drive first and work good!..

I give $400 for a good T400/205 combo...it is a BOP bellhousing though, maybe a bit harder to find.
If you can get 400 that's fair, 600 would be a good deal for you IMO.

option for you is still in truck so buyer can ride in it for test drive to prove its good .

I just bought a th400 and 205 the other day for $600 and I thought that was fair. I've been watching my local CL the last month and that's the cheapest one I had seen so I jumped on it. A lot of people asking $1000 around here. I also got a second th400 in the deal however that needs rebuilt. So that was a plus for me.

I have a 465/208 combo I would have traded for your th400/205 hahaha oh well
