help me find 454 heads!!!!!

what heads can i buy for around 1000 that will give me great performance with a stock rebuilt block? i know everyone says 781 but im having a hard time finding a set that arent cracked beyond repair.....its my first engine build so bare with me lol

Fwiw, 049's are an identical casting to the 781's.

With the exception of a larger combustion chamber. The runners are identical though but the combustion chambers are 122cc's IIRC.

anyone in the socal area who has a set of used aluminum heads i can buy of them?

also does anyone have any experience with procomp aluminum heads off ebay?

The procomps I have seen were horrible but they may have been seconds. I would have 049s or 781s redone and ported. I am making 660hp with a set.
