(this is in another section, if its against the rules i apologize, and this can be deleted)

I just picked up a blazer chassis w/ a 12bolt rear, and dana 44 front axle. I am not sure of what the transfer case in it is. I'm pretty sure it is a 74 blazer chassis, but there is no garauntee the t-case is original, it used to have a 66 chevelle frame and body on the blazer chassis. It is a divorced transfer case, and i was thinking it is an NP205, but it looks odd, it doesnt have the large cast aluminum covers for the gears on the one side. Here a couple pics, one of each side.

Thanks for any help, these axles will be going under my 87 Shortbox this winter, along with the Pro Flo MPFI 400 small block i had put together for it, i am excited! Hopefully this t-case is worth using. The lever off the front only seems to have 2 positions, engaged and disengaged, but i may be missing something. If i can get it ID'd we'll go from there.

maybe some sort of farm implement t-case. Looks like it has provisions for multiple rear outputs. Also looks like it is an all gear case just due to shifting style and the bearing covers. Bizarre for sure!

the only casting numbers on the case itself are on the front, upper drivers side where it bolts to the crossmember. they read 5875-S-51 and under that are a 3 26/65 there is am emblem above that that look like a U and an F joined together. it is an iron case also.

??????

That's what I was thinking. GM used D300's, D20's (I think) and Rockwell cases in the 60's and (rarely) in the early 70's.

That case is most definitely not a D300 or D20, but I'm not familiar with Rockwell t-cases.

so gm did build a rare divorced t-case 4x4? what would run that t-case from the factory?

Yes, GM ran divorced cases way back in the '66 and older trucks. '67 marked the first year they went "married".

Excelent, thanks for the help guys. I think i am going to keep the 208 thats in the truck now until it gives me problems. The truck i picked up was a babied one owner truck, and the t-case works great. I dont plan on running real big meats, just some 33x15.50x18's. So the 208 should hold up well for a while at least. I'de realy like to clock it upwards so it doesnt stick out below my framerails, hopefully i can figure out a way to do that, if not i will look into a 205.
