help me make my k5 a better wheeler

Go with Lockers for Sure.. You will notice a difference driving in town when cornering, but you get use to it. Just dont power it around as much or the back-end might swing out a little. One thing to check, which no one has said is for rust under the passenger seat and in the corners on the wehere the back passengers pu there feet. Last but not least cargo area near the taligate. Do this because, before you put money in new parts, you might wont to check and make sure your floor pans are good. And if not put the money there to fix them for life. Just my 2 cents

I had the offroad design sway bars and they are a pain in the butt to put back in unless you are on perfectly level ground. Just unbolt that sucker and cut it up for bar stock. Your truck will lose about 12 pounds and have a lot smoother ride and ramp about 250 points better. If you want something from offroad design get the greasable shackles. They rock on!! The next mod you should make is to put some good recovery points on front and rear of your truck. Every time I try to pull someone out of a stuck I have to crawl under their truck. The next time I see someone stuck without a good and easily accessible recovery point on their truck I am going to kick them in the 'nads :eek1: and then drive away. Just my rant.

well ok this is it i wheel every other sunday and i go from laramie to denver every other weekend also. my question is if i disconnect the sway bar, will the 75 mph traveling thru traffic affect my truck? my dad says that when im cutting thru traffic at high speeds and getting on and off ramps it could really affect my handling this is my daily driver so i dont want to worry about losing control the the interstate

The amount of lift may factor more than the sway bar. I have 3" under the Burb and no bar, I bomb down the highway at 80 right along with the big rigs; but there's no checkered flag around the bends.:D

Hey don't worry about the lingo, most here can figure out what your talking about.....hang out and you'll be a pro in no time, just like the rest of us.
:doah: :D ;) ;) ;) :wink1: :wink1: :wink1: :haha: :haha: :haha:

i say ORD disco's and steering brace first. i wouldnt take the bar off completly.i dont think its a good idea for a daily driver.
with the swaybar disconected, your shocks will probly be way too short. most shocks that come with lift kits only allow a couple inches of downtravel. i'd get some entry level bilstein's. they will improve your on and off road ride.

dont bother with lockers just yet. learning how to wheel without them will make u a better driver.

a hammer or heavy wrench of some sort and a lil wd40, they go right in. you should carry some basic tools with you when wheeling anyway.
