Help me pick DS U-joints

Yeah I ran 15" travel Pro Comps on the rear with around 5" of lift. Stock mounts on axle and stock frame mounts. Had about 4-5" of chrome showing ar ride height.

Hmm. So somehow you had 2-3" more inches between shock mounts. Mine is right up to the body on top, so I guess yours went lower somehow. If I were a more competent welder I'd think about dropping mine just a hair to get into the 14" shocks - maybe I still will do that. They'd still be way above the diff. Right now they are barely exposed below the tube.

I'll have to come clean Mastiff, (though I've said it before) I didn't do any of the drivetrain work on my truck. Was easier to go to work, make the money, and pay the man. :(

Smart man. I took the day off work yesterday to fix my wife's van when I could have just worked and made enough to pay the bill and then some.

Honestly, if there was a good shop here in Tucson like they have in Phoenix, I'd probably have paid the cash to get my K5 finished up. I'm ready to drive, I've been wrenching for years since this thing has been off road. A few hours a week isn't enough time.

Plenty of shops in Mesa, but that's like a hour and a half drive for you.

Yeah, and I'm on the east side of Tucson, so more like 2+ depending on time of day. It's far when the vehicle needs work and everyone wants to go 85 mph. I took the back way once to pick up my 1-tons in the CUCV since it can't go that fast.

I'm in phoenix, so these shops are about a hour for me.

Yeah, I tend to forget that stuff isn't always close even if you live up there. Like when I lived in LA and drove hours to get to the shop I wanted.

Did you have any places in mind that are really good? I haven't researched it a lot, but just from reading magazines I know there are a number of them that will work on projects end to end instead of just setting gears or installing a lift kit. Randy Ellis was one I looked into briefly.

Reopening this thread since I need to choose my front shaft now. I'm a little burned out and not very motivated to mess with my crossmember right now. Does anyone think it would be a mistake to go with 3R CV and 1350 at the diff? I think I should be able to just get a new yoke for the 60 and everything should bolt up, right? No crush sleeve or nonsense on the 60.

Assume no bigger than 37's.

I'm going on the assumption that a 1350 CV will not fit with the factory crossmember, especially with the healthy droop I have. Plus, just from what I've read, it sounds like stuff breaks when it binds way more than simply because it's too weak.
