THEKODIAKGYM- that's a truck that would turn heads here, you gotta have every one looking when you drive that:waytogo:

I don't speak spanish, wish I could help.

That is a very nice K5

If I understand right, you are wanting a stronger rear axle, correct?

The c clip eliminators do not work well under side loading which a 4x4 often encounters.

It would be best to upgrade the entire rear axle to a stronger axle

What makes and models are most common in Argentina ?

He could pull a set of of a 1009 CUCV. Sounds like there are a few floating around down there.

Subscribed-This is just cool and that is a nice looking K5:popcorn:

si quieres que sea mas fuerte, deves de ponerle un eje de 14 bulones de otro Chevy or GM de 3/4 or una tonelada. Esos ejes tambien son flotantes y no tienes que comprar mas cosas extras

y tambien vas a tener que comprar otros rines con 8 en vez de 6 tuercas
un kit flotante para tu diferencial de 10 bulones no los va hacer mas fuerte solo va hacer a tu billetera mas delgada/flaca

I basically told him if he want to make it stronger he should get a 14 bolt axle from a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck. It comes with a full floating axle and he wont have to buy any extras beside rims since it goes from 6 lug to 8.

Also a full floater kit for a 10 bolt wont make it stronger only his wallet lighter. Did I get all that correct?

NSXXTREME LA VERDAD ES POR SEGURIDAD NO TANTO POR FORTALEZA NUNCA TUVE NINGUN PROBLEMA Y LA USO POR TODOS LADOS . EL KIT QEU ME PASASTE EL LINK EVITA QUE SI SE ROMPE EL RULEMAN LA RUEDA SE SALGA ? NO LO CONOZCO SI ES ASI EL LO QUE BUSCO Y MUCHO MAS ECONOMICO
GRACIAS POR TU TIEMPO AMIGO :thumb:

60s came in semifloat and full float though, both would be a heck of an upgrade compared to a 10 bolt.

A dana 60 full float, meaning the axleshaft does not rely on the wheel bearings for support will have bolts holding the axleshaft into the housing.

A dana 60 semifloat will look much like you current axle when the tires are off, just bigger

Any Dana 60 would be a great upgrade

Yep as correct as you can get, tell him a Dana 60 would also be a great upgrade will still have to get new rims. I do know of some SF 6 lug 60s in Chile but not sure of make model or how common they are

He's basically asking about the c-clips some more that they might work for what he wants. Which it sounds like he is just concerned with the wheel falling off.

The C-clip will prevent the wheel from falling off if you break an axle but it wont make the axle stronger.
If you have access to Dana 60 that would be a better option to swap under there. You can find a Dana 60 in full floating which is much stronger but you would still have to get 8 lug rims.

C clip eliminator kits do not like side loading either.

When you are sidehilling on a dune or something the downhill tire has a tremendous side load and c clip eliminators have been known to fail in a situation like that
