Ummm... why not measure the one that is on your truck now? Is this a rear shaft? You will also need to know the size of the pinion U-joint. It should be 1330, the dimensions of which you can look up.

I don't have one handy , but I pretty much remember my shaft being less than 45 inches long . Like 30 ish .

Half the distance from center tire to tire is 53 inches ( 106 INCH WHEELBASE )

Quick search of CK5 gives around 29-31 inches for a K5 , depending on who you ask :thumb:

Longer is still ok if you can get it cut down .

I still have the stock rear driveshaft from my 90' sitting out in the shed. A little short after the lift was installed, so it's just been there for spare parts - whould work somthing out if the shipping wouldn't kill you.

Not sure if the driveshafts are different either but knowing what the tranny was would help. Are they different sizes? If not i could go out and measure my stock on in my truck...

In the 80's with the np208 equipped rigs , the shafts are so close on the K5 as to make no difference .

They made the difference up in the length of the transfercase adapter .

I found this out when I traded the 4speed setup I had for an auto setup .

thanks everyone for your input. i ended up finding one on ebay for .99 cents plus 15.00 shipping.
