Help on front end rebuild

Mine weren’t that hard to separate being a CA vehicle. IIRC correctly I wedged a pickle fork on the bottom and tapped the upper with a hammer.

There is a spanner nut that wedges the upper in place. Do you have the spanner wrench to try to loosen it?

although the spanner sleeve inwas able to remove already
I have the ball joint tool from the parts store along with the pickle fork set

I was trying to push the ball joints down vs up.
apparently that fat ring around the ball joints will not get any smaller.
But pushing up makes them pop out real easy.
ill take the lesson learned.
now to assemble the driver side an tackle the passenger side with my new found knowledge.
hopefully my tie rods actually show up tomorrow

2ell got everything all buttoned up. set the alignment as close as possible before I take it to the alignment shop.
Was able to replace the rear shocks
front will be here on Saturday.
Now my dilemma is the tapered bolt for the steering stabilizer does not sit flush, about 1/4 before flush an not enough room for the cotter pin to go through the castle nut.
Do I have to ream it out to accept the new one
I'm going Rancho 9000's all around to include the stabilizer.
All parts are all moog ie
ball joints (upper and lower)
tie rods
drag links as well.
now the only hold back is the stabilizer.
Can I skip.it or do I really need it.
tires are not to big (yet)

I'd just tighten the nut on the tapered stud and if you cant get a cotter pin in the hole--leave it..that taper fit will wedge itself together well and there is no turning force on the nut to loosen it ,so it shouldn't budge once tightened..

I had to use a pitman arm puller to get that stud free on my truck when I replaced the tie rod ends,and it took a lot of force and hammer blows before it finally came off the old tie rod.

I was lucky I had a barely used HECO stabilizer that had the same tapered pin bolt and it fit fine,I did still save the original stud too though,had to file off some boogered threads at the end when it mushroomed a little from the pressing & beating it took to get it out.

I was a bit leary of installing it as is and was contemplating just running a regular bolt through the tie rod end.
More so since its my 17 yo son who is the main driver.
l reassemble an for extra measure throw on some red loctite
 
looks good little more right caster is good for crown in road toe looks a little high but ok. Is wheel straight when you go down the road ?

Last question would be
I have a dual shock set up, which one do I delete, the one the leans backwards or the one that is most vertical.
