Help plz I really want my dome light to work!

Ok someone needs to buy or make a test light!

Use some wire and attach one end of the bulb to the negative post and the other to the positive post of your battery to quickly test the bulb. That said, I have never seen a bulb that didn't work if the filament was intact. So if the filament is broken no light!

But make or buy a simple test light to see if power is even coming to the dome light.

Your dome light works in this manner; the bulb is attached to the positive all the time. To turn the light 'on' the circuit needs to be completed. This means the negative half of the circuit must be closed. This is done with a switch (either the door, headlight, or in some cases domelight switch).

Well I tryed the bulbs in my friends Camaro and they worked.
So does that mean after i get the swtich it will work?

Nope. Did you already check the fuse? Could be your problem.

There is still a chance that the wiring is compromised somewhere between the fuse panel and the light housing. Like I said you need a test light to check to see if there is 'power' reaching the housing. If not, then you can check along the wiring to see where the problem is. A test light is cheap (or free) and will be invaluable to you for years to come!

What do you mean?

The lead is the wire that connects to the alligator clip. I find that the longer that wire is, the easier it is to use sometimes. Seems like that "good ground" is always just out of reach with mine. They all do the same job.

I found out that it was just the door pin was bad in my truck. When you get the new door pin, take a wire brush and clean up around where it goes to ensure that it has a good ground. The driver side pin was bad, and the passenger side just didnt have a good ground. New pin, and a lil work and my dome light started workin again. I'm willing to bet that will be your problem
