Putting in rear bumpers on the Jimmy. On the frame there are 2 pegs going to the rear gate. Do I need these? I am tempted to get at it with a saw ant take them away. Will this affect the operation of my gate?

Do you mean the springs that run from the rear into the gate?

You tailgate is going to get mighty heavy with out the helper springs on the tailgate. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif
I took mine off and it wasnt that bad at all. I did have to use two hands though as I am weak and very fat.
