It sounds like you're getting either too much or not enough gas. What happens if you hold the pedal all the way down when you crank the engine?

Have you checked to see if your choke is stuck closed?

EDIT:

Is your engine equipped with a oil pressure switch that powers your choke? Maybe it's gone bad......

And I hate to bring this up, but are you sure you're not out of gas? I know similar problems have ocuured for other guys and it ended up being an empty gas tank /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

choke is electric
it is not run by the oil pressure switch(mechanical gauge)

and it has plenty of gas.

it acks like it wants to start when you have WOT, but i think that is from the gas you just dumped into the engine.

just a guess but clogged filter reducing fuel pressure or bad fuel pump maybe? getting spark too all 8 cylinders?

brand new electric fuel pump, brand new filter

disconnected it at the carb shoots out like a mother fooker

well this is what i would do, i would either dump gas directly into the carb, or spray it with carb cleaner and turn the motor over see if it catches, that is what we have to do with my friends dads ol gto, check it out some more, im sure you will feel very stupid\happy when you find the problem and fix it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

just a possibility , you might have flooded it from the
beginning and fouled out some plugs. check your plugs.
also, how bout the timing? could it have moved or jumped ?
