HELP! WHY is my base timing @ 60* and won't run at 0*

I was in the garage and on the road last night to set the timing and I think it's tuned in pretty good. I set it by adjusting the distributor until the engine 'pinging' went away while under heavy load. It seems to run real good.

The computer has thrown a code at me since I first fired it up on thursday. I'll check that out today.

If it doesn't fire up right away today, I'll check out the starter. Thank you wheels87k5 for that info. Never thought a starter could do that till now.

Anyway, THANK YOU EVERYONE for your help!!!! I appreciate it!:wink1:

I'll post some pictures soon of the Blazer.

Dont worry about the groove in the balancer. My crate motor does the exact same thing. Just gotta mentally remember where that mark is flashig once you get it timed good. You could also make a second mark that would hit the timing tab for any future timing.
