I was given this (new) pulley by a friend that said it was for a sbc serpentine belt set up. I'm thinking it's either wrong (although it looks right) or I don't know how to install it.

This is a 454 but the serpentine brackets are for non air pump equipped sbc / 4.3

The pulley itself is 6 1/8" in dia

Pics #2 & #3 show that regardless of which direction the hardware is installed it will hit the pulley itself

What gives? Am I dong something wrong? Do I need special hardware? Is the damn thing just plain wrong for the application? :doah:

bolts threw front .

try removing pulley first and bolt on bracket. then reinstall and check.

UPDATE : just checked on napa online and Pulley O.D. : 5.125" for the kit new. check to be sure if you got the right pulley also. if not you can buy the kit new or just the pulley .

napa kit BK 6601802

and belt length diffrent when all orignal with a/c or if non a/c with bypass kit. so measure for the one you need.

Aahhh, thanks! I checked Autozone, O'Reilly's, etc but they didn't have the pulley dia posted. Looks like I'll be buying the correct part.

Thanks again!

I have the small block serp setup on my 454 as well. But I don't think that my a/c delete pulley is that big. I'll check tomorrow and get a pic of yah need. I need to get a new one, mine squeaks and it's driving me nuts....Advance Auto has them....

Are you using the Kwik Perf conversion kit or...?

If you would measure the pulley that would be a big help in making sure I get the correct one.

Yep same kit. I took the a/c delete off a V-6, but when that pulley was bad, buddy gave me one off his old man's truck which is a 350. They are all pretty much the same, not sure what yours came off of.

Also noticed that you have the idler pulley under the delete pulley, not really needed without using a/c, my .02....

Buy/build the bracket to bolt a york there instead, idler pulley and compressor as well. :waytogo:
