Hey guys I just bought a set of power seats out of a 06 silverado and was wondering if someone makes a kit to bolt these up or do I have to fab my own mounting brackets? Any ideas would be great!

Oh and there going in a 86 K5..

I'm gonna assume you have the brackets that came with the new seats. What style seats did you get? 2 buckets? 40/20/40 split?

I'm in the process of doing this to my K5 now. I got the 40/20/40 split type seat with the center seat/console. I made floor stiffeners from 1/8th by 3" plate from home depot on the top AND bottom of the floor to sandwich the floor and support the seats properly and prevent them prom pulling up in the event of a collision. Most were flat except the forward outermost mounts were too close to where the floor dips down. Just had to make a couple bends. I will be taking pics and making a write up soon as time allows.

Yes 2, 40/20/40 buckets with seat belt built in like all the new seats. I want to make my blazer look alot cleaner and do away with all the 1986 full body harness seat belt looking crap. But yeah post some pics of your install i'd like to see them!

I did this swap, seats were out of an '03 and some of the stock bolt holes lined up I just drilled holes for the ones that didn't and used fender washers on the underside, I actually put 2 '03 buckets in the back too

Only thing I wonder about is the floor cracking like these are known for. Hope you guys that bolt these to the floor are reinforcing your floors and seat mounts.

Especially the guys using the seat belts built into the seats.

Yeah, mine had cracks bad and the passenger side the seat was actually starting to fold down the floorboard inside of the raised up portion. You'd think fat folks were jumping up and down on the seats every day.
This was in a truck that was in Seattle it's entire life and about 95% rust free.

The channel along my driverside door was rusted, was actually the only rust I found on the whole truck, I put in some patch pieces and welded them up then welded some angle iron on the underside for support. I'm a big dude(300 Lbs.) and after good hard wheeling in Moab I checked it and all is good:D.

I kind of regret putting in the rear buckets, they are very tall and limit rear view mirror visability, they look cool and are very comfortable but if I come across a nice newer rear fold and tuble I'll probably pull them.

The whole reason I did this swap was I got them cheaper than I could redo the stockers and the salvage yard I frequent happened to have them. Kinda cool to jump out of the DD/towrig and climb into my K5 with the same seats. :p:

Here is a pic of the support brackets I made for my seats. They are 1/8th" thick by 3" wide strips available at local home/hardware stores. The long one sits across the rear feet of the seat. The top right one is for the forward/inner foot and the top left is for the forward/outer foot. It is bent to accomodate the bend in the floor.

These plates go under the feet of the seat on top of the floor to provide load displacement. I have another set to go UNDER the floor to provide support for any kind of "pull" in the event of a collision. This was in consideration of the seat belts now being located IN the new seats. After looking at the factory K5 seat belt tie ins which are nothing more than 2"x3" stamped steel plates with a nut welded to them, I believe my brackets sandwiching the floor will be adequate.

I will be doing a write up on this soon, just waiting for my Herculiner to dry...

look forward to the right up

I'm getting ready to do a liner in mine and might as well do the seats while I'm at it.
