This past weekend my 84 K5 took in a little water. Not flooded but splashed up into air cleaner. open element type.
It is a 350 small cam, edlebrock carb factory intake.

Ok, I thought i might have cracked a piston but,It runs fine smokes on pass side (blueish) but it smells like gas instead of oil burning. no rattles or diffrent sounds than it usually makes.
Could i have bent a valve or would it be carb related

first thing, compression test.

if you did indeed whack a valve and damage a piston, youd be getting oil in the chamber, and unburned fuel, which would cause the hydrocarbon (fuel) smell.
