hey all newbie with 241

hello im new to posting on the forum ive been on here for a few years i need some help. idk if this is the right place to post so please help me guys and gals but im doing a frame off on my 85 blazer and have a 241 with vss and need to convert it to mech can anyone help me i cant find a place for the parts or if any of you guys have the the parts i need please help thank you

They made the NP241 with a mechanical speedo, but maybe only for 1 year ('89 on the K5's and Suburbans). So the parts are out there, but I don't know for sure exactly what the other differences are between the VSS and mechanical versions of the t-case is.

yeah 89 was the only year. You could also just swap your gauge cluster out for a electric one from 90-91

I have an 89 blazer . the speedo take of is on the 700 r4 , not the t case on my truck.

takes a cable into the gage cluster and then spins a metal disk with a light sensor(hall counter) .

I dis assembled that when i went with the dakota digital gages.

IIRC you need to swap the output shaft and everything that goes with it for the mechanical speedo (1989 is the only year of mechanical speedo for the NP241). Also the speedo cable will attach the the t-case and not the transmission. If you hooked it to the transmission then the speedo would not read correctly when in low range.
