I bought my truck from this guy and discription was uncomplete, made the truck out better than what it is, now i am having to put 2000 into it but its rust free at least he got that right... Cant drive it though:(

Proceed with caution...

Less than 10 miles away from me.

If someone is serious about bidding on one of these I might be able to check it out for them.

BTW, any information given in an ad is considered a warranty/contract. If he says it's 99% rust free and you take the time to measure it and it's only 95% you do have a rights to rescind or renegotiate the price.

Putting "Sold as is" at the end of an ad doesn't protect the seller as much.

This is an actual shop that specializes in older GM Trucks. Haven't done business with them but they do seem to have lots of business. :dunno:

Look, both front fenders are gone. Also I guarentee that the rockers are about to rust through. Also the hood looks like its got a crease in it.

But none the less, it would make a perfect resto project. Compared to New England trucks, that one has very minor rust...

Just now saw this thread. Looks like it would be a solid Blazer but not for $5500. Interesting note, the guy selling this Blazer is the same guy that was selling that cherry gold-and-white '73 I posted awhile back. "gm-truck-center" I've seen other 2nd-gen fulltops sold by that same eBay seller...he always takes pictures of his trucks at that same spot.

Looks like he's also got a mint '73-'75 fiberglass top for sale too...

Did it ever state what engine was in it? Did Chevrolet paint the side mirrors orange?

I think craig truck is kewl but this one is dam nice too! If I had da money but mickey D's dont pay well.

I saw that truck, it's really nice! But that gauge bezel isn't stock for that model year, it's from '78-'80... those gauges (speedo at least) are from '76-'79... the woodgrain dash plate is from a '77... They're just minor things but not correct for 1974 so the seller can't claim the truck to be absolutely all original. I wonder what else has been replaced...even the door lock knob in the foreground looks too new I think.

God, my poor K5 used to look like that. I'd love to have a cherry one just for toodling around town ... but not fifteen grand love.

Also I don't think GMC Jimmys came with hood ornaments in '74? Aaron what do you think?

I don't think anything did until ~77. :dunno:

Craig you are way to into original. the guy selling it probably see a dash that fits and thinks its the original. 95% of the guys on here don't know the difference. they just see a rust free clean truck.

next you will point out that the screws holding the cover over the bottom of the column are not original. :D or the brake pads have been replaced.

but I guess you and I make the extreme ends of the bell curve when it comes to how a truck should look.:doah: :D

I can totally see Craig's point. The value of a truck like that is in how original and correct it is, and the seller alludes to 'showing' the truck so he certainly should know better.

This truck is meant to be a convertible and the bed rails are perfect. You can put a new Tiger top on it for about $800 or just keep using it like I do as is.

If I understand this right, he has no hardtop for this truck...and he even goes as far as to recomend an enclosed trailer for pick-up/shipping.

Restored, original, and survivor are drastically overused terms that rarely describe a vehicle properly anymore.

Just cuz my junk is cut, hacked and plenty far from stock doesn't mean I don't appreciate a proper restoration, or a near perfect survivor...and it also bugs me to see those kinds of trucks misrepresented.

Those door mirrors don't look right either. I seem to recall either the little car mirrors like Craig's, or the three post door mirror's. The ones on that truck look aftermarket to me...

Also, for $15K i think that guy needs to have the heater core fixed...:doah:

For 15k the heater core and the AC should work. I only paid 2500 for my 80 and I got a hard top, working AC and heat, and lot's of rust.

The rust is complemetary... kinda like the little tree air freshener...
