Just curious, who had a hi lift jack and where do you keep it in your rig? Mine is just thrown in the back, not sure where to put it. :dunno:

Inside rear, passenger side on custom brackets. Cant take the credit for this design. Believe I stole the idea from someone on here a while back.

I like that, what material did you make the bars out of? My jack is just floating around in the back of the truck.

thats a good place for it, how did you do the brackets?

I believe it was 1/8" thick by 1.5" flat stock. Using a BFH, vise grips, table top vise, I massaged it to shape. Oh, and a tape measure of course...lol

Welcome aboard Jessica, as far as the Hi-lift, mine is right on the front bumper, can ya see it?

Hi there! Yep I see in on there. Nice rig btw! :) I don't have anywhere like that on my rig that I could attach it too :( otherwise great place for it to be.

In my K5, I have it mounted below the rear seat using hi-lift mounting brackets. Doesn't interfere with the rear passenger feet area.

ah, i saw those when i did a search on google. i saw one set that was a little bit cheaper but not much. i just need to get the thing off of the floor in the back, everytime i hit a speed bump too fast it sounds like my truck is gonna come apart, i did have it in the back seat but that is now occupied by my front drive shaft

There're Pros and cons to keeping it inside and outside your rig. It can be a PITA to get out if there is lots of other gear stored inside, also they're not light. Easier to smash a finger dragging it out or even accidently break a side window if your not careful. But it does keep it out of the weather and it won't fade from the sun and any chips in the powder coat won't rust up near as quick.

Stored outside on a bumper makes it WAY easier to get at especially in a hurry, but the weather thing of course can be an issue. But loading and unloading is much quicker.

in or out?

I just dont really have anywhere on the outside to put it... otherwise i would totally put it on the outside, it is very heavy and i am a weakling :frown1:

Not sure of your area, but the only thing I dont like about the whole outside storage deal is they can be stolen, and thats a bummer. D@mn kids steal big drop hitches, clevis's, and hooks all the time around here. And strangely enough, chrome valve stem caps..... :dunno:
