NTXJIMMY submitted a new Build:

Hidden Winch Mounts

I hope this is in the right spot for this kind of thread!!

Hey guys I was hopping that some of you could help me with ideas on a hidden winch mount designs.
I want to put a winch behind the front bumper and have the fairlead where the license plate goes.
I have seen several designs on doing this but none that I am in love with.
I will be adding this to my build thread when I get to that point in the build to do it.

But need all the pics and info you guys can get me!!! Braces, frame shots and heck even a build thread link will be very helpful!!

Thanks in advance for all the help!!

I have attached a pick of what I am looking for.

Thanks for the pics!
I had the magazine when it came out but it was tossed a while back not by my choice
That is the idea I'm looking just a little cleaner on the install

I run a custom tube bumper, but the winch mounting is the same...

Mine is like that with no bumper yet. Worried I will get stuck bumper down and not be able to reach the freewheel handle.

That's what I was thinking as well
I really hate to power in and out

Also I'm worried that most winches the drum is offset and that creates a problem with winding
And the pull on the bumper under a load

I like it as well
And I fully agree
We are looking at making it as clean and as light as possible

TnA (CK5 vendor) has a front winch mount that may be low profile / flush enough to fit behind a stock bumper.

I think what also is an issue for me is my build has the tow hooks and the CUCV frame extensions and that takes up some of the mounting location for bracing.

I have been in talks with him for that exact reason, he seems to think the tow hook mounts would have to be extended a bit further.

K

I will standby before I contact him.
Thanks for the update!

I saw that pics and looked for one as well but did not see it.
I will keep looking as well
