Highly upset

yeah I posted a while back that I got a 79 gmc k30 on 4" susp and 3" bl with 38's under it.. new alt, new 4 core radiator, rollbar, kc's, d60/14bff, tube bumpers etc... I ended up selling my d44 with 4.56's and the 14bolt for $250 so I paid $250 for a ton of parts!!!! so the breakdown was like $35 for a d60 front :wink1:

Deals are definitely out there..especially if it's just iron to the seller. I just picked up an '85 K30 over the weekend from a guy who used it as a plow truck for his lot. He left salted sand on it for two years and when it rained it ran right down between the cab and bed..when he lifted the plow last season the frame snapped in half. I had been eyeing it up for a while and stopped in inquiring if he wanted to sell the vehicle and to my suprise he said you get it outta here by tonight and it's yours the town is all over me because I have 2 unregistered vehicles here and there is no title. The truck had 2 new GM doors, D60 SRW front w/4.11, 14bolt gov lok SRW rear, a recently rebuilt TH400, an NP205 case, a 89-91 blazer clip, and a fully functioning 8' fisher speed cast. I winched onto my trailer, dragged it to the farm, pulled the doors, visor, rad support and flipped it over with a forklift...flame wrenched the diffs, transmission out, and plow frame off. Took about 8hrs start to finish. Loaded the truck back on the trailer drove 20miles mon morning to the scrapyard and made $375. So i basically got a s*#!t load of parts and got paid to do it.

me neither.. I payed a grand for my 1 tons, and I'm going over em completely anyway...

theres a guy i found in bergen county i think it was thats got 2 sets of 1 tons
gm dana 60 and a 14bff. wants $550 a set

wish i had the money but i just bought new wheels and tires too so it would kinda put that to waste

I got my first truck by offering to haul it out of someone's sticker bushes..

It was an uncut 67 Bronco with a sound body, only needed front floor pans and a little body work to the passenger rear quarter from a fender bender

Dumbass me sold it a year later for $2500 without doing anything to it other than cleaning the mildew off. I'm still kicking myself for that. Wish I would've kept it.. though it would've been a lot of work. It had a 9" rear and a drum brake D30 in the front :eek1:

Set in w. MASS for $650 http://westernmass.craigslist.org/pts/739606916.html.

Also a couple in the CT/NY region www.bargainnews.com <--I think I bought some stuff off the guy in ellignton, he had a 3+3 dually converted to a 24V 5.9 Cummins w/propane injection....looked pretty fun, and some sort of project on rockwells with quad-link supension. I think the guys name was Brent (if it's the same guy).

Up this way a 14bolt is a dime a dozen. There is some coin in the Dana 60's but not like I have seen on ebay or other places. You could buy a D60 and 14bolt from a junkyard arount here in the range of a grand. I would expect a much better price from a private seller.
