Hit and Miss welding Pisses me off, pics.

Thats ok you dont owe me anything. You just said I was right you were wrong so that is good enough for me. I guess I was wrong in a way though because I have never heard of a 220V D/W. Also even since there is I didnt expect a land lord to shell out the extra dough for one when he can just go to lowes and a buy a $250 D/W.

Thanks Robert, Im happy to pay up, I dont whelch on a bet, you were right, I was wrong either way Im fine with it. You let me know in a PM if you want. Yep, I had that German POS washer in my head, didn't stop to think about the new one being 110V.

back to the cage stuff. Im going to completly finish the cage then grind what welds I think need to be re-welded.

OH MAN! :doah: there's egg on my face!! DAMNIT!!! It IS 110V !!!! The old dish washer was 220V!! :haha:LOL, you all should have took that bet. Looks like I owe Robert 15 bucks, thank god only one of you took me up on that bet. I was right on the old washer, I just assumed when we had it replaced the landlord put in what was there before which was a 220V D/W.

I have a vague recolection that when he looked at it he said you have a open plug (the one under the sink) So thats why he went with a 110V unit. the only other thing plugged in is ofcourse the disposal. There is a 220V plug behind the dishwasher I know for fact. Im not going to move the dish washer to take a pic though, too much trouble.

Damn, don't you just hate when that happens. :D

On a side note, my bender arrived today. I just got done unpacking it. Tomorrow i'll start to assemble it and figure out a cart to build for it.

Make sure your bender stand has room for your fancy posters Scott. :D

Rene, those posters are for Dustin. Something about it just turns him on. They got him so hot and bothered that he lost his sunglasses and his cell quit working. :dunno:

Besides, that's my shop and my bender will be going in my garage.

AWESOME! that feeling of a new hi dollar piece of equipment is almost like sex :D. I remember the day my 20" disc grinder arrived on the back of the delivery truck. My land lord was there at the time and he was like whats that, I said a 20 inch industrial disc grinder. He was like GOD DAMN, THAT THING IS SEXY AS HELL! I said "yup it sure as hell is" :D

Ofcourse get pics up asap. Are you going to get Bend Tech 3D or did you get it already? As you can see by my first cage its not necessary but from what I hear its pretty awesome. If you have any questions just hit me up, Im happy to help.

I did not buy it and not sure that i will. I'm like you, being a machinist and good with numbers and all i'm sure i can do an excellent job without it just as you have. :thumb: If i have any questions i will certainly hit you up.

On a side note, did your landlord ever get your roof fixed? I thought the last i read he supposedly had someone do something to the roof but it still leaked?

I could work out my bends without the software...but that defintiely takes longer than having easy to use software (IMO).

I have the Bend-Tech EZ and used it for my cage and bumpers. It's almost spooky how accurate it is, and i didn't waste any tube.

His guy finally came and "Fixed" it. Of course after the rains have stopped, and I thought it was a half assed job. We will see what happens next winter. I would like think I wont be in this place then But I probably will be.

Practice bending a small project like a bumper or something out of HREW tube first since is cheaper then DOM. Thats what I did and it helped get me "familiar" with my bender and bending tube.

I have the same Bend Tech EZ. I just never calibrated it so I never used it. I really need to just try it out. I thought about getting the 3D, everyone says that is AWESOME software.

I gueestimated a few numbers...and turned out to be really close to what the die set produces. My hoops I was bending up were ending up within 1/4" of overall planned width pretty much every time.

I just reloaded the Bend tech EZ on my new computer on the weekend. I'll be doing a cage for my 6 pack build.
