It's applied similar to chrome plating so I doubt you can just buy it.

Hmm, that's interesting. I someone found a way to do it with less dangerous chemicals. Still, it looks like it'd be ~$200 to plate something the size of a carb (1.5 gallons) which you could have done at a shop for less.
If you were doing an entire engine, it might pay for itself though. Nice link!
