Glow plugs for carb heat???
You put 6 glow plugs into a spacer under the carb to heat it up??
---I'll bet it works good, but arent you fearful of something getting TOO hot,and starting a fire??--I hope the glowplugs cant come on accidently--I dont know if I'd trust a timer,a manual pushbutton that returns to the "off" position when released sounds like a safer way to go--but hey,if it works for you, good show!
My neighbor said he had carb icing problems too,on his old ford granada--he "fixed" his dilema by putting a 150 watt floodlamp next to the carb all night in the weather it acted up most--he said it worked great until the motor was started and running for a few minites--then the fan blew enough cold air onto the carb to bring it right back to square one.....he thought about getting an inverter to run the floodlight constantly, but decided to buy a new EFI ford escort instead..no more carb ice problems!
