am I nuts to think that this is a little steep

Be careful because during the early to mid 80s gm ran the computer control Quadajet.

Well then perhaps it was not fuel injected. The only thing that led me to believe that it was fuel injected was he said that he hadnt started it in a few days and the battery could of been dead but he turned the key from the ground didnt pump the gas and it started right up.

That's why I said conversion... but from what you're saying now I'd probably offer about $1000 :doah:

Yes, but mostly only in California. He said it's fuel injected, so it's either an 88+ or somebody's already done the swap. I've lived in Michigan all my life and I have never seen a CCC truck.

Oh really? I didn't know that. Anyway, TBI conversions are kind of a rare site here because of the hoops the ARB make people jump though to make the conversion street legal. If people are going to jump though that many hoops, they either buy a TBI truck or swap to TPI.
