Is it possible to tug on one frame rail to straighten it?

As in, tie one side to a tree and get a little speed

This is my final attempt to fix it

Just post your veiws

I'll try to not individually adress each comment :wink1:

Before you get going I know I need fake beadlocks, a PVC roll cage, and fake mud.

I hate to admit that I have actually done that, and it worked.
Well, it worked well enough to get the body panels lined up so that the hood would close.

Well, if your frame is already damaged, I can see doing this method and ripping the frame rail off hah, I'd just take it to a shop or call and get a quote, if you have any tech schools around you, take it to them and they will do the work for free.

Good, another baited hook for the weekend...

I know a guy that tried that and hooked it to a dead tree. When the tree started to fall he couldnt get away from it since he was chained to it.Needless to say he had more to worry about than the frame. If your frame is as bad as you made it sound in the other post(s) your just waisting your time and maybe killing a tree.

I know I am probably beating a dead horse, but I would check my center pin first.

:eek1: It's been of centered through 3 sets of springs

I'll check it though next time I see it

Won't be untill next week though

eh, not sure I should respond to this seriously... But here's a few thoughts...

I ran a frame machine for 2 yrs back in the 80's... The key to making frame pulls (other than a nice pulling post) is knowing where and how to create anchor points.... finding the point of damage and anchoring behind that, whether with a mo-clamp or other fastening ability...

old school, mobile, self-anchoring, pull towers are still kicking around here and there...

it's a 50/50 shot whether your gonna help or hurt the frame, with the old chain to tree method.. more often than not, you'll f*ck sh*t up... rack the frame, tear stuff, etc.... I'd rather see you using a chain hoist to a tree.....

Like I said, you more than likely can get a pull done on a machine for 300 to 500 tops....

I must admit I lol'd

I made sure to search for words that would not give away that it was your thread. :D

seriously though, at least talk to someone with a frame pulling machine. they might take one look at the truck and tell you the frame junk, or that a few minutes with a porta-power and its fixed.

My dad's friend owns a body shop

He would probably have one eh?

If he does or doesn't he probably could give the best opinion on if it can be done and where to do it.

If you are going to keep asking for advice and negating what the smart members here on the forums say when it isn't what you want to hear, I'll tell you what you want to hear.

Just bolt it back together, weld in plates bracing the frames to maybe strenthen the weakend metal, call it good.

To the rest of the people in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, if you see a 78 blazer with 38" tires with probably fake bead locks kindly pull of the road or get way in front of or way behind of it. I most likely isn't safe, and because someone is to cheap your life is in danger. He's a kid though and hasn't probably ever had a lawsuit on his hands, so it isn't entirely his fault he hasn't wised up yet.

I haven't opposed anyones opinions in this thread.

It's a teal 78 stepside, billet grill, and 39.5" tsls

I do have a new drag link and the steering box is tight so you don't need to be too worried. :wink1:

It drives fine BTW I just want to fix it becuase my tired rubs too much on one side.

But you ignored PLENTY of good suggestions in the other thread.. You were told how to properly fix it and you keep trying to figure out ways not too...

They said straighten the frame, so I asked if I can do it at home.

It was said to bring it to a shop and get the frame straightened in almost every post:rolleyes:
