Honour our Brother Jason Payne at the Bash.....

It may be more appropriate to make the trophy out of broken peices from Jason's truck. If the award is named after him why not make it with his parts. I saw a lot of broken parts laying around his garage today.:D

That would be great! I would really like to make this happen, but need to know if it is appropriate or not.....

I think it would be great to do it. I also think it needs to be an award for something that ANYONE could win. If it's the longest drive then non of the local guys will ever be able to win it and that's not what he would want.

I was thinking about driving to Moab via Anchorage Alaska so I could win. :D

Seriously though, that is a good point. Maybe something like best engineered vehicle or most innovative fabwork would be a good prize. :dunno:

That's why I was thinking something along the lines of biggest break on Hells Revenge or coolest rig voted by the people at the BBQ.

I don't know if we want to encourage people to have spectacular break downs. :dunno:

Who would do that? :dunno:

It was peer pressure from Michael and Pauly! :p:

Well, I went and talked to the Arts and Crafts place here on base that makes plaques and trophies. I found pretty much what I am looking for and would like a suggestion on what to mount on it? I have a broken D44 carrier that would look cool mounted to it or maybe a stub shaft polished and cleaned up.

To make things fair and equitable I would like to have a vote at the BB BBQ for the most "Innovative rig".

This would keep the theme since Jason had a very unique rock crawler that stood out amongst the others.

If sounds good, let me know and I will get it started this Wednesday coming up.

The idea behind this is to pass this trophy on each year at Blazer Bash. The winner will be asked in good faith to return the trophy via mail if he/she are unable to bring it the following year.

I think this will be a great tool to honour our brother and keep his memory alive!!

That sounds good. I'm helping Steve out with the registration at the BBQ. I'll have envelopes for all the pre-registered people and some others for those that register at the event. If you wanted I could put a ballot in the envelope for each person to vote with instructions to turn it in to you.

You could count the votes either that day or the last day. Last day might be best for getting an opportunity to see rigs in action, but it may be hard to find people to give out the trophy.

That would be cool, I figured with everyone doing the Friday Run at Hells then bringing there rig to the BBQ it would be enough opportunity to see what everyone has and vote.

I decided on what I am going to use for the trophy. I will post pics when it is done. Should be ready about a week out from the bash.

This is what I wanted the engraving to say...
