so I replaced all the elements of the hood to try make it usable and once the springs were on the hood basically buckled and folded on one side...uuuhhhgggg
So I’m assuming I need a replacement.
How do I make sure the next one doesn’t do the same thing this hood did not look damaged or badly creased but then. Again it never had springs on it....
Also are any years better than others and what year should I look for as a direct fit?
Any input appreciated!

A good metal/body guy could fix that, but he has to know what to do and add reinforcement plates on the bottom. But most will probably find a new hood.
You HAVE to lube those hinges, and do it often. Also, push the hood towards the windshield as you pull down, and don't get over zealous. Add reinforcement plates to the new hood at the weak points.

I think a couple of places sell the reinforcement plates. Someone just put self tappers in this. But it seems to work pretty good I'm not nice when I close it.
