OK, this is strictly a prototype photo. Hopefully sometime this week I'll find the time to check the run out on this one and see whats up!

At any rate, 3/8" thick centered, gusseted out to the wheel shell and the gussets run all the way into the lug center for ultimate strength!

Mikey, do you got your rim strengthener figured out yet?:haha:

Fock it, see what you can come up with for a rock ring. You always seem to come up with the coolest chit anyways. I had like 8 different designs for a center and then you sent me that one and I knew there was no way I was gonna do better. :haha:

I like the one you sent me. flows with the design and has a unique look.

We'll roll with that one then. That looks like one of your wheels though...I thought you were doing something different for the shortbox?

Did you put one of them on the lathe with all the braces attached?

are you going to be selling just the centers??

We have discussed this very thing several times. How would you go about welding them in??? I have probably 30 hours into a fixture. I could have shaved that some by eliminating some options but the bulk of it would still bet there. I know other guys are selling the centers but my question still remains, how does the average joe in his garage/shop weld them in accurately?

I'd have to configure things a little differently if you are going to rely on the ridge in the rim to set backspacing. I'll have to think on this one a bit. I've got my centers set up so they don't actually touch the rim anywhere. They are close and easy to weld, the fixture controls all placement and not the wheel center.

it would be nice to find someone elce selling the inserts than usa6x6 they have such a bad wrap and all...plus your look alot better....if you start selling centers than it would be good to sell a "kit" with the runflat and the o-rings...

So far I have 4 sets in house to do. We'll see what works out with selling them seperate but no guarantees.

My only feedback is that if you do plan on selling these in the future find a way to get them centered properly. I had a pair maid by Dean Reed from Pirate4x4 and ended up selling them because they sucked on the street. I realize that a lot of people never touch the street with there rigs but I drive mine to and from the trails. I had my girlfriend drive it down the street one day while I was following her and I could clearly see that all the wheels had a slight wobble in them. It also made them track really bad on the highway, like it was floating all over the road. I also know it was not only my set because my buddy Noahrob (also a CK5 member) has the same problem with his set. Sorry I just wish I could find a way to run the hummer rims again.

I doubt that I'm supposed to reveal everything I know, but I'm sure they'll be a quality piece. ;)

clarkjw24 recenters a lot with the usa6x6...now just about all the ones he has done were not street trucks but on our last trail ride we had to ride to the trail head (about 5 miles) on asphault and i never heard a complaint...we got up to about 50 mph too...even people running square rear diveshafts didnt have a complaint...the 6x6 center are great quaility and esay to intall (if you have the tools, its just getting them thats the problem...

alright enough about 6x6 in kerts thread :)

I don't have any worries about the centers that we weld in at the shop. Like I said up above, I've a good deal of time in the fixuring for these. Get them true was my biggest concern from the very beginning and we had discussed whether or not we'd sell the centers seperately from the start concerned about that very same thing.

I still need to check the run out on this wheel and then compare that to some of the wheels I have that have not been chopped. I'll probably compare it to a non hummer wheel as well, just for comparison sake. From here I should be able to pull a spec and stay within those ranges or its a blemish or a junk wheel. The last big concern is if the wheels are bent to begin with, the best I can get out of them is a recentered bent wheel.

I do have a truck that I intend on installing a set on and it will be a highway battler. Sort of a display for the products so I want them to roll out straight and true.

When all said and one and you do decide that you are going to be doing these, are you going to be able to do different BS'ing?

Never paid much attention to hummer bead locks but i'm guessing these are for a 16.5" tire?
