Man, with your whole shop you didn't have a tank of welding gas somewhere? Welds look nice. When are you going to reveal your super secret beadlock pattern? :p:

Yes bud I have a mig w/ gas at the other shop, but I really wanted to do this one with the minimal since most of the people can afford a 300 dollar welder like the one I used. I have it at this shop because I use it for misc. stuff during audio installs. Thought it might be nice to give people some confidence. I will be using the gas mig for the other four.

The big shop has the gooseneck trailer in it I am rebuilding for the K5. The trailer has tied up most of my play time lately. I figure since my shop might sell soon I will need to get a trailer up and going because I'll have to move myself and the k5 to TX.

I'll let the secret on the beadlock out as soon as Kirk gets them to me. I have him running around working on other things at the moment.

Oh and I'll post pics of the tube doors tonite. They got installed this morning. Paint is drying now :wink1:

Here are some shots of the tube doors installed. I think I was happier to see them arrive then I was with the Dana 60. I think it just fits the "bucket" to a tee. I would have got a picture for you of me jumping in the air once they were bolted up but that would have been a hard picture to take by myself :D

Kirk once again did more then expected and the doors fit perfectly I say better then the factory ones. If I hadn't bent the fenders on the narrow the gap would have been awesome as well as the hinge panel matching the body lines. All the welds are superb and you really get what you pay for. I had looked at the 200 dollar jobbers but have no regrets with buying quality.

I am pondering ideas for a latch handle. Something like a suicide shifter for a motorcycle comes to mind. If you have any ideas let me know

I also got the beadlock primed up and painted. And most of the deck on the trailer finished today. Still waiting on axels to come in.

Got bored at work today and made some makeshift latch handles from abs plastic. They actually work quite well. You just push downward on the latch to open the doors.

Here is a crummy nightime picture of the trailer in progress. You can imagine how fun it was to haul this thing back on public highways about 75 miles home. No lights, no suspension and to get a clue of how wide this thing is - The deck I am working on is 96" I think outer wheel to wheel it was 115" well over legal. Scary drive trying to avoid motorists, passing other farm equipment, running at night and dodging the local DOT. I put the strobe lights to good use on this adventure. Plus the tires are no where near balanced so there was about 3 sweet spots where the trailer wasn't physical bouncing. 10 - 35 - 55 anything other then that slowing and speeding up it felt like it was going to rip the truck apart. I will be very happy to see the new dual 7,000 pound braking axels and slipper springs.

The trailer will be 98" wide at the stake pockets. The trailer was 130" wide at the rear wheels. He are some better pictures of the trailer in the works. That is the Furd tow rig and DD in the background  The section in the back that does not have crossmembers is where I will be locating the still unseen axels.

Wow, that thing is beef, specs on the SD behind it?

2001 F250 Crew Cab, Eclipse AVN5495 30GB HDD navagation DVD, Eclipse highs, Crossfire 12"P1, Eclipse 4 channel amp, Crossfire 2 Channel Amp, 65 gallon aux tank, Spray in liner, gooseneck, Autometer A pillar guages, Banks exhaust, Banks turbo, Superchips tuner, 35" BFG AT, 6" Superlift, bilstein shocks, etc. :wink1: It's my not so friendly MPG DD.

Been a couple weeks since I check in here. I have been working on the trailer at night for about 2 hours at a time so nothing went to fast. Got a full day or two in working on it over the holidays. I wasn't planning on having to cut the neck off but as luck would have it I had to. It was just too high to work well. I am about done now. All I have left is to clean it up, paint, stain and wire. Should get close to done by the weekend.

I am glad as my shop should be sold by the 12th and I need to get the blazer ready to move to it's new home in TX. The buildup will continue by the first of 06.

All she needs now is a coat of paint. Hopefully between trying to find a new job and get moved to Lubbock, TX I can get the spray gun out.

Anything to pay the bills for awhile. I have been managing and operating an auto electronics business for the last 6 years and have owned the business for the last 2. I am Nm law enforcement certified and have a 4 year business degree with a minor in accounting (both w/ honors)

Loaded up the bucket and got her to an engine man to get a tuneup before the move. I think she looks well placed on the trailer:p:

Two solid days of huffing Valspar. I had to paint a friends trailer yesterday and shot mine today. Now the "bucket" officially has a new finished hauler. I noticed my "helper" installed the spare upside down:rolleyes: Gotta climb up there and flip it over now but the weather is crummy and I want to sit by the fireplace for awhile instead.
