I bought new aluminum panels for my gauge cluster bezel, ripped off the old panels and I have a shit ton of glue everywhere. How do y'all get the glue off of something like this??

Is it still sticky or hard and dried up? If you’re going to just replace the aluminum that was on there you might be able to spray adhesive over the existing glue and lay the panel down. I know that 3M makes an adhesive erasure wheel that removes decals and glue from paint but it might melt the plastic, and it’d more than likely be to big. You could give Goo Gone along with a scuff pad a shot, just make sure it won’t be absorbed by the plastic. My favorite things to use to remove glue residue are a heat gun or acetone, neither of which you can use on plastic.

It's 1980 glue which is tough as hell, Goo Gone just made everything worse, I'll ready to scrap this thing and buy a clean one

I tried to do this once used everything from goo gone to gasoline. Nothing worked really well.

Yeah this project has really gone to shit. I should have left the original bezels on there.

I'm about to try the brass brush on the Dremel like diesel suggested but I doubt I'm going to get any results. I'll let you know in a few

Put some vegetable oil or olive oil and rub it good, it will melt some and completely remove the stickiness and then you can scrub it off with soap and scotch brite pad

Peanut butter works well also...creamy not chunky
