How do you tell what gear ratio the 14 bolts have and if they have gov loc?

I'm looking for a cheap 14 bolt, locked or open, for about 200 bucks around the N Cal area, specifically the bay area. Anyone?

check the local junk yards I tripped over one yesterday at mine local u-pull it but wasn't sure cuz it was in a gmc delivery van like a ups truck $60 + core

I got mine with 4.10 gears at Oakland pick-n-pull. They had both open and GOV-LOK type for the same price. I got a 1980 2WD 14FF complete drum to drum with U-bolts and brake cables for $120. It took about two hours to find and pull the one I wanted.

Yup, Pick N Pull is the way to go. I got mine from there also. Check Oakland and Newark. It'll run you around $100-130 depending on which guy is at the counter. I even spoted an 8 lug D44 there once, its not a D60 but they are still hard to find for cheap.

I got one from pick-n-pull for $100. 3.73 gears. You should have no trouble finding one for less than $200.

I was just at pick n pull in stockton today and seen (4) 14ff. I checked to see if they were open or gov loc, 2 of each and 1 had 3.73 gears, the others had 4.10's. They were all in 3/4 ton trucks so they will bolt right under a blazer. The way to tell what ratio is by looking at the ring gear, it will have the teeth count stamped into the ring, 11-41= 3.73, 10-41=4.10
