personally, other than for sheet metal, I like the special noise. When your doing it justtttt right.
I dont know how to describe the sound. Its not sizzling bacon. It sounds like some noise Galvatron from Transformers would make. Kinda like a deep short circuit sound. You might even get a bit of tint to the color as your welding. At least, thats the way I know Im getting enough penetration.
Oh yeah, dont be like me and burn through 4 tips in 1 hour. I made that mistake, I kept getting burn back. I seem to be holding the tip too close to the work when working with the higher power, and it seems to be fusing the tip to the wire. Never have a problem working with sheet metal, which is about 90% what I do.
