How far can I rotate the pinion up on a 14 bolt FF before pinion (bearing?) lubrication becomes a problem? It will be on a daily driver so reliability is a factor. The angle in the drawing is what I'm after.

The 14 bolt is designed so the ring gear slings oil into a hole that routes right through the pinion bearings on the way back down to the bottom of the housing. So long as you don't point it straight up, you should be fine. The fill hole is also in the nose of the housing, so the more you rotate it up the more you can get into it, although it would be more likely to leak out of the axle tubes...

I'd use a high-quality synthetic 80-90W oil if it's gonna be a DD.
