How far do I need push my shaft into the hole?

That’s asking for it
So what do you think about the spine extenders? Or what about the driveshafts that only have 2 inches of splines total? If a driveshaft only has 2 inches of splines, would running 1.9 inches be crazy? If a driveshaft has 4 inches of splines and your running 3 inches, is that suicidal?

I can smoke the tires, lifting a tire off the ground and have not had any issues so far. I would hate to have the shaft fail at the wrong time though. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Am I reading that right, are you saying that when you launch from a stand still your truck hooks hard enough to lift a tire?

I'm really just trying to find an equation on how far the splines need to be inserted to be safe. Like, how far do you need to plug an electrical cord into an outlet to get power. How far do you need to insert the splines to be safe?

Its not all the time. Sometimes I smoke the tires. Depends on the road conditions. Sometimes the driveshaft tube fails and twists itself in half. That's why I'm concerned about the splines on the latest driveshaft build. Why do you ask?

Accept it or not the answer is full spline engagement is where it needs to be - anything less is going to eventually cause trouble; it’s a gamble on how long it will take before excessive slop or failure will occur.
Just a thought to ponder - you can steer your truck at 80 mph with your feet but it ain’t a good idea; apply that to wanting to get away with the minimum in these situations.

As for the lifting the front tire goes - I think it’s fair to ask for a video of such a claim… there are a lot of folks here with seriously potent modified engines along with really low gears and locking differentials that don’t make such a claim - gonna need some pics of this in action.

That’s a pretty tall claim, it’s hard to do in a racecar so I’d have to see video to believe it.
