. Ended up selling that bike though

..the car does feel scary though, its pretty light, and at high speeds its floating more than hugging the road!..and its short wheelbase does not add much stability either...its amazing a small motor like that can be as fast or faster, than the other GM big-blocks I've owned!..
..not sure I'd be brave enough to try "burying the needle" in my Contour...
--it probably would though!.

I'm pretty impressed with the Duratech V6 though..for only having 2.5 liters displacement,170 hp is a pretty amazing amount for such a dinky motor!...what it lacks in low end torque,it makes up for with high RPM's!..
I've read the motor was originally designed by the same people who built the Cosworth vega engines, and Ford bought the rights to it for use in the "Mondeo" european version of the Contour...I love the fact it gets over 30 mph too,if driven normally!...![]()
.....but I fear the day I need to fix anything on that car--looks like I'll be walking if anything craps out under THAT hood!..its not like my GM truck, that I could fix just about anything on it,on the side of the road..even a simple fan belt or hose failure would require a tow,and a rental car...you ain't fixing them without a lift, and it takes a few hours, not minutes to fix..

it surprisingly wasnt bad other than the fact that the higway wasnt straight by any means. if it had been it would have been nice. but there is definatley too much wind resistance with these things. on the way home we did the same thing.. but by this time the wind was blowing probably 20mph gusts directly to my side. i still cant believe it went that fast. with the fulltime,no overdrive, and stock gears and a stock engine!!!
hah i dont think he thought it could do it either

My Mustang tops out somewhere around 150.
