Well,my '82 K2500 wont pass insopection till I fix the E-brake--front cable seems to be the seized one,and its return spring has rotted off it,so even if it applied the brake,it wouldn't release..so I will have to replace it..

I've never had to install the front "pedal" cable before,I have cut many off though, doing cab swaps or when stripping trucks at the junkyard...looks like a SOB to get at where it goes behind the inner fender skirt and it has a spring loaded barrel clip thing that looks to be a fun job to get it out of the floor bracket...my freinds time & labor guide says 1.3 hours to install one..anyone have any tips or experience here?..

I miss the days when a 50 dollar bll gauranteed a new sticker, even when there was a few minor things "wrong" that needed fixin!..:(
It's a 250 dollar fine if your caught driving with an expired sticker or none at all here now--used to be 50 bucks, till they changed the laws to read its now a "moving violation" to have an expired sticker!..I guess too many people felt 50 bucks for the fine, was cheaper than just fixing the vehicle,so they just drove around without one and paid the fine when they got stopped...the RMV plans to hike the fee to get a sticker from 29 bucks to 35 first of next year too.....

The junkyard can help.

When you go to the junk yard to get your replacement take lots of pictures as you remove it. I did that a while back and it help alot when I did mine.

Well,I would except for one thing--I'd behard pressed to FIND a truck older than 1988 around here!..ALL of them have been crushed when scraqp went up,and even if I did find a truck like mine,I doubt the E-brake cable would be any better than mine...they dont cost that much so I'll buy a new one...

The junkyard is where I learn to take things apart like dashes, and things I dont want to bust on MY truck when I take it apart! :D...
