Glowing at a load is normal. Glowing at idle means something is wrong or they are some paper thin headers.
are you noticing the tbi firing erratically or is it smooth? how many degrees total advance is the distributor getting from the mechanical weights at thos lower rpm.
you can usually smell if its running rich enough to continue a flame front in the pipes. And you wouldent have that bog you are describing as tbi do not have squirters. Normally a tbi thats running to rich will have a good snap on the throttle then die off if its lean it will get a faster volume of air that leans it out further.
what system are you useing to tune this with or is it stock tbi ecu?
Idle is 16-18 degrees and I think I maximum 0f 34 degrees. There are no mechanical weights its entirely electronic and controlled by the ecm.are you noticing the tbi firing erratically or is it smooth? how many degrees total advance is the distributor getting from the mechanical weights at thos lower rpm.
