Am I going to choke to death at idle?

Right now I have a 90 coming off the muffler right at the front driver's spring hanger with a 22.5 going over the spring to get to the outside of the truck. The muffler position is pretty set, but everything behind it is just slipped together for now. The plan is to get the tip close to the edge of the body.

The biggest concern here is putting heat too close to anything. I think the clearance is good on the spring eye. How far from the tire do I need to be?

I prefer behind tire .

and years on here reading about guys with blazers/ burbans get it out past the body and away from the rear windows . or plan on smell inside body with windows down .

also I had a trailer 4 pin plug melt 3/4 the way off one time driving 20 miles down the road from the exhaust pipe outlet to close to its exit and the heat was to hot for it . so tire in path of exit of pipe might not be good .

I know it's not pointed at the tire but I'd be careful about directing heat where it might hit the tire. Boggers aren't hi way tires to begin with so I wouldn't make it hot on top of that.

My exhaust has a 90 that dumps behind the tire on the drivers side. I've only driven it with the top off but never had fumes.

I'd take it out the back too. Dump it behind the tire. Takes a little more work, but you won't be getting a headache on long drives.

Dumps down out out to the side?

P.S. Your Bilstiens are upside down

Except for the exploded drawing, the 5100s on the website are always shown body down. The interwebs aren't real conclusive. But you said you called them, and the logo on mine is right side up. I'm confused

I called Billstein and asked. They did say that it shouldn't matter. BUT, they also said they affix stickers and engrave markings so they are upright and legible while properly installed.
Yep, they said boot up. Stickers are to be right side up. So I'm good.

Hmmm, wonder what makes yours different from mine.

My Bilstiens have stickers and engravings that put the body up, boot down...

Just went through this a while back, it's a pain to run exhaust out the back on a k5 with a shackle flip thats for sure!!

Ditto on @Deuling comment. That's my plan too, keeps the exhaust protected plus it gets it or from under the truck and looks way cool too
