how many feet of tubing do you have in your cage??

Thanks for letting me jump in with questions.

Two more - How do you get the 20' sticks home? I've got my DD pickup but I have a snug top on the bed and the Blazer.

And - I've got a rear seat and hardtop still on (probably will stay on) - The main hoop generally has a belt bar or other cross support. How do you access your rear seat?

Trailer, my buddies dad used to slide it underneith his truck and tie it to the frame rails, or cut into 10' sticks. Just buy some tube one size smaller to use as splice material for the places you will have to section the tubes.

I do not have a belt bar yet but I will soon. I don't currently have a back seat so I don't have the access problem, but I will be adding a couple seats back there next summer. I have not figured out the answer to the belt bar being in the way yet other then maybe a U shaped bar dipping down behind the front seats and then having a leg tied into the floor. This would give you a belt mount and access to the back. It would eliminate the lateral support of the belt bar but sometime you have to sacrifice things.

if you have it cut for transport reasons get it cut in 12s and 8s

I had my bud with a ladder rack go pick my 22 footers up. :D

I don't remember whose rig this is but I found these on here awhile back and saved them because I liked the cage. Seems like a viable solution to rear seat access. In the second pic if you look behind the drivers seat you can see where the belt hoop attaches to the crossbar on the floor.

Boz has a similar belt bar design to allow access to the rear seat. Lemme see if I can find the pic.

What happened to MNorby's pic, I see red a x there now :dunno:

Cool, thanks. You can see what I was talking about in the pic from the rear in the top middle of the second page. I plan to do something similar if I ever get that far.....

I don't care for that design much, such you have decent acess to rear but here is no triangulated support on your B Hoop. An X would be best but I settled for a large V on mine for rear seat access and as much triangulation as I could do
