2. 1995 chevrolet silverado torrison bars cranked and 33's

3. 1995 toyota corrola 1.8ish lol really dont care 40mpgs tho

5. 1978 chevrolet custom deluxe 4x4 inline 6 4 speed winter beater then building into a DD

so hmmm 5 vehicles for a 20 year old single guy haha o well i guess

If you can afford them, then its not too many. I used to have 6 cars and trucks, but with a mortgage and kids... Now I have three, the family truckster, my mustang, and the blazer. It got to the point that I couldn't keep up fixing them all and I found with 3 project vehicles that NOTHING was getting done on any of them. Oh an where I live everything has to be registered, insured, and inspected or you get a ticket on the windshield unless it's in a garage...

I did the same thing when I was younger. Looking back I wish I had saved all the time, effort, and money I spent on the over 105 cars I have owned and instead saved up and bought something really, really nice. Assuming I spent $1,000 on each car, just 20 years later had I saved that all I could have bought a nice $100k car. Or a nice $50k car and a down payment on a house.

Realizing that I spent more and more on cars as I got older, I would guess I've spent $200k to $250k on cars. What was I thinking? I should have just bought a Honda Accord and a Blazer and been happy with that!

Captain Hindsight to the rescue! lol

well we dont have to have them all insured and registered all the time but 3 of the 5 are lol, i have 2 down right now the bonanza and the tbi, the tbi decided to lose the oil pump around 4 grand passing a friend on the interstate so its waiting until i have time to put a new motor in it and the bonanza is being built lol.
all i can say is gas can get expensive but i always have choices lol

Well at age 20 maybe, I had 6 but now you should see...
Last count I had 23 but I have been selling to reduce the crop ( my wife doesn't like me to have that many, plus I lost a house so little less storage space.
I think I am now down to 17 but I am working on 2 more possibly 3.
But I am still trying to work on getting rid of the real junk trucks by parting them out and keeping as many running as possible.:doah:

I don't think I paid on average close to $1000 per vehicle, some I got free and most were $100-500.
Most I made money off them, and the only thing is I never rode in a new car or even a nice car, it was always good enough or a beater. Although some were classics or really rare.
Even when I got some mercedes cars they were good but hey they were mercedes.:D
Learned a lot from them and I made some money when I got married and lsot my job, I was selling enough to keep paying the mortgage and food plus the baby stuff, for about 8 months then I started running low.

man haha you could almost go a month if they all ran without driving the same truck twice lol (my dream ) its bad i just bought a truck and im already looking for maybe something alittle newer. i might try to get a vortec so i can complete the generations of trucks you know lol 73-87 check, 88-98 1 tbi but maybe buy a vortec, 99-06 sierra. hahah guess 67-72 is next lol

if you got the space and the time,it would be nice to have that many rides.never get bored thats for sure.

well i mean i dont have a whole lot in buying my vehicle like the most expensive was 8k and that is just for something alittle nicer to go out on the town in and stuff, girls dont like rusty trucks lol, id say i prolly have maybe 15k in all my vehicles if i added it up. not to bad i think

I have never had that many, right now I have 3 running rigs and one being built. That is too many as it is, although this is the stable I plan to have for a while. The one car we have may change but the Jimmy, Horton, and the dually will be around for a while

I guess when I said can you afford them, I meant can you afford to do what you really want with them? Unless you guys are independently wealthy I find it hard to believe that you can support that many projects... Even just doing the bare minimum of repairs your looking at a small fortune. In the end I'm much happier with one or two projects that I can direct my time and $$$ towards. Maybe if you had a fleet of parts trucks to constantly pull parts from, but your still going to have to spend some money. The other side of it is vehicles left to sit usually seem to deteriorate and develop problems from sitting... The other thing I learned over the years was that all those project vehicles were driving me nuts, as the demands of family, work, and finances grew, almost all progress slowed on all of them, and then they were losing their fun factor and my "hobby" was becoming stressful instead of relaxing. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't have bought every cool, cheap project I came across, and saved a little more and bought what I really wanted and drove the wheels off of it!!! It's hard, I still fight the urge to buy more projects, I love cars and I fall in love with the vision of what I think they could become, but there is nothing more disappointing than not being able to make the dream a reality...

I agree I had too many at one time... Now I have 2, and can spend more money and time on thoes 2.... But I did just pick up a 1943 Ford GPW.. Yeah wifes Grandfather had it.. Another reason why I sold some toys (The wife)...

I have 5 vehicles, but nothing that is a junker just sitting like some people try to count as a "vehicle". '06 Ram Cummins, '01 Ram Cummins, the K5, my K30 service truck, and the wife's '03 Yukon. With my job, every one of them has a purpose, except for my K5 that is for recreation/pleasure, and all are registered/insured/garaged and kept in a constant condition that I could leave right now and drive across the country in (well, except for my K5 that is in the middle of a restore.

How many is too many? I think that line is drawn when someone has vehicles that are very low value and that are not used nor are they registered/insured. Then you're just an okie.:D

you starting your own wrecking yard?:rotfl:

feels that way, been cutting up running and driving truck just to get them out of here. 91 k5 is up next

Well let's be honest here. Anything more than 1 is technically excessive since you can't physical drive more than one at one time. But that being said... I've got 4 at the moment - all so different so good for different things/ weather/ trips/ passengers, etc!

After the marriage went in the can in early 06 I turned my attention to vehicles and at one time I think I had 11. I sold alot of them for a profit thou to pay my lawyer :eek1: and if I was a whole lot younger I would go to law school, it's a licence to print money. But then again I won't be here with y'all as I'd be on the BMW or Mercedes forum and eating lunch at a place where you make reservations instead of chowin' down at Burger King.
