How many miles ya got?

My '90 one ton (dana 60/14 bolt) 4x4 Suburban has 255,000 miles...well, I blew a head gasket, so now a roller cammed 350 is going in as we speak. Oh, and I'm on my 5th 700 tranny...those things are JUNK!!!! I do not even tow with this particular Sub (gotta another and a dually for that) and the 700s just keep blowing up. It does have the original 241 transfer case though!

1983 K5 third motor, orginal t-case and tranny, orginal 10 bolts front and rear....315,000 miles on truck and still will wheel with the best of them, 2nd motor was jerked still running with good compression, dropped a 350 bored .030 rv cam/and new heads. Suppose I'll roll over 500,000 on this K5 before I retire her.

Have 150,000 on my 87. Replaced motor at 148k, rear end was rebuilt at 120k and as far as I know trans has not been rebuilt. Shifts great! T-case had new rear seal at 120k.
 
95,000 with a rebuilt 305

107,000 on my 87. Drips 4 drops of oil per night from a weld bead on the oil pan. THAT'S IT!! Just passed PA Improved emissions (dyno) with the factory original motor and exhaust system. New 700r4 by previous owner at about 85,000. I love this thing!!

I have a 78K5, and as far as I can tell, only the timing chain has been replaced. It had 87,000 miles when I bought it, but the paperwork says "Exceeds mechanical limits". So I know that it has at least 187,000 miles. Not bad. I'm going to replace the engine with a chevy target motor, and use the old block in a drag race car I'm going to be building soon.
 
My '89 has approx 129,000 miles on it, both engine and body. The 700-R4 tranny was rebuilt by the previous owner after it started slipping between 3-4. (the towing in OD may have had something to do with it!!! Duhh!). The NP241 transfer case just got rebuilt about 5000 miles ago due to worn shift forks. The truck is now parked waiting for its new home (garage) to be built so the frame-off can start but the engine fires up first try when started once /week.
Only sign of wear is a small puff of oil on start up due to worn valve stem seals. Body is good except for bit of rust on top of tailgate, on front fender lip and floor under two front seats.

To answer your other question, I plan to rebuild the tranny and engine so that when it goes back on the road, nothing should be questionable.

My 75' K5 odometer says 24300. I was when I bought it that it only has 100000 original miles on it. I find that hard to believe for a 75', but I guess it has 124300. The original engine (350) blew, so replaced with a new Crate 350. Transmission was dying (SM465) so swapped out for a TH350. And while changing the motor, I swapped out every other part too for brand new ones like, alt., starter, water pump, fuel pump, etc.

89 Jimmy 187,000 miles. I bought it a year ago from a paving company that used it as a work truck. The thing just keeps going...runs great. No complaints. In fact, you can tell your dad that the bank financed it because there's still a blue book value on a 10 year old GMC truck. Even the bean counters know they run forever.

Completely stock 86, with the 305/700R4/208 got 122,000 all original, and went home for the weekend and still got 17 mpg.
