how many people here actually wheel?

Things have slowed down for me. $$ being my issue plus I must be getting old, I have to be comfortable these days. The trails I like to hit are too tight for the K5 so I bought a Jeepster and have been planning on a build for it (dont trow chit at for that!) :haha:. The K5 is at mom and dads and has been stting there since Aug when we did Coyote. I think I made it out 4 times last year, mostly snow (now you know the comfort factor as my top fell to pieces).

I rarely take pics these days, yea lame excuse but true. I do have some on the other computer I will throw up.

Anyone on this forum from So-Cal?
Yeah, but don't tell anybody.

Blazer has been down for a while (it was supposed to be my runner while I built my bad ass FJ55). Almost got everything back together now. Supposed to take it out for a shake down tommorrow, but not likely to make it. Need to lengthen the front driveshaft now that T.C. is clocked up all the way... variety of small projects to finish up on it... Haven't done any real wheeling since Feb-march of '08 when my oil pickup decided to fall off the pump while running down 35-40 degree giant sandhills... don't care if there's no oil pressure, because if I take my foot off the skinny pedal for one second the back end comes around faster than I can deal with it... BY BY MAIN BEARINGS! (and a main bolt)

Where'd ya find my van? I've been lookin ev erywhere for it!:D J/K.

I used to wheel when I lived in Washington, but that was almost 7 years ago. Now if I go wheelin its in the ditches and its not a whole lotta fun. The closest places to actually wheel are about 4 hours in either direction, and work pretty much keeps me from going most times. I'm gonna start going more this year, since I have the travel trailer we can stay overnight.

Considering I spent a fair ammount of the spring on my latest build... I got in some good rides this year.

Next was our march of dimes fundraiser at Morris Mountain ORP... I wheeled a little, but spent most of my time cooking BBQ for 100+ people

Wheelin is sooo over rated, the skill is in the build .

:haha::haha::haha: I have wheeled once in my own rig, my 89' burb so I AM officially NOT a web wheeler. :D :rotfl:

Mine is currently my daily driver. And I can't afford to (don't want to spend the money to) fix it if I break it on the trail.

I have a 14bFF sitting in the garage awaiting "truck funds" for a rebuild/regear/locker. Then the search will begin for a Dana 60. :D

My truck is in good shape... but a LOT of the parts are seeing the end of their life. And I've already done the thing where I spend all my money fixing my d.d. 4x4. Had it for 7 years and never got to "build it"... just fix it. :( I promised myself I'd get this rig ready for the trails FIRST this time around.

I'll play: A pic from the Elvis trail in the Florence Junction area in AZ, then Shakedown Day. Turned up a bunch of little things to fix before the next Moab trip.
And a pic of my wife in her FJ40.:D

Z-Turn on Lower Terminator . Thios spanked me 4 times in the full bodied K5 , until I finally walked it with a front locker . And is the reason I ended up with sliders on the K5 .

So easy with a truggy :pimp:

WARNING : do not become a member and expect to wheel, work on truck!!! You have access to all info but you have access to the Lounge. Lol, No my K5 is a very slow work in progress, so slow in fact I have not seen it since June. But seriously the paid membership is worth its weight in gold for the info I have read and received.

ive wheeled to my own standards.. I mean no heavy duty rock crawling or mudding, but i have done some light dirt trials and some smallish mud puddles (up to the doors at deepest, got stuck once) Im in the process of getting a cucv, so after i build it up a little ill be looking to go to raucsh creek with a few members. its not easy finding trials on long island heh

ive owned my K5 3 times in the past 3 years and only wheeled it once :(

hopefully ill be able to wheel it a bit more this year though

heres some pics of the aftermath of my only off road adventure since building my truck

Appearantly you have only been looking in the garage and lounge forums for pics. The pacific region has posted up photos from a good sized group run every month for almost a year. I do my fair share of web wheeling but that group and I have laid down a lot of miles in the socal area.
