I am installing my Power Lok diff in my Front 60. How much additive to I put in with it? Does putting more or less additive make it more aggressive??

Check your owners manual, my toyota LSDs called for an ounce per diff.

Second, make sure your diff lube doesnt already have traction modifier in it to begin with.

The manual doesnt cover this. The truck didnt come with this diff. GM never offered this diff in any of thier vehicles.

Use thew recommended amount of additive. The preload to the clutch packs or springs in the diff itself should determine how aggressive the diff is

x2 The additive is used mainly to quiet the LSD. Is allows a little slippage so they dont chatter and bang and cause premature wear.. You should be good to go with 4oz in a D60. Power lock are about the strongest and most agressive LS made
If you want something more aggressive get a full locker.

Thanks, thats why I got the Power Lok, I think it will be perfect for what I am doing. I had a full locker in the front before....I dont think it will be neccesary on this one.

The additive is a friction modifier, essentially making the oil slicker, allowing the discs to slip easier. A few years ago I put an Auburn limited slip into a Dana 60 in the rear of my '70 Super Bee, the tech guy at auburn said if I want the best performance out of it to use a full synthetic oil with no friction modifiers. The thing grabbed like it was locked most of the time, I did however need to replace the clutches more often.

The GL5 hypoid oil already has some modifier in it but it is only suggest as a "top off" oil in LSD's so modfier is still required.
